Wheat and Tares

Community Group Questions

1.    During the message, Pastor Paul pointed out that in the parable Jesus refers to the field and the field belonging to Him and is full of wheat. When you begin seeing the world as God’s field instead of the devil’s territory, how does this change the way we see culture, society, and our personal responsibility as believers?

2.    The first parable (Sower – Seed – Soil) emphasizes that we first receive the seed and then in this Sunday’s parable (Wheat and Tares), we become the seed. Share with the group what this practically looks like in your daily life to move from receiving the message of the Kingdom to living as a visible seed of the Kingdom in your family, workplace, and community.

3.    Wheat and tares grow together for a season, but they are revealed by fruit and posture. Based on the teaching, what are some indicators of Kingdom fruit in a believer’s life, and where do you sense God calling you to grow in humility, fruitfulness, or self sacrifice?

4.    How does understanding this parable as God purifying and establishing His Kingdom on Earth impact your hope for the future and your confidence in the Church’s role right now?
